Sex In Downtown Brantford

Topless, nudity, public sex, masturbation, group sex, multiple partners, swapping, oral and anal sex, homosexuality and lesbianism, unfaithfulness, drug use and drunkeness. And that's just in the student residences. Who knows what takes place in those swingers' sessions in that downtown bar.

The Death Of The Penny

The penny is no longer being made and will go out of circulation shortly, done in by inflation.

I remember when I was a kid and a penny had real value. You could actually go into the corner store with a single penny and come out with something, like a piece of candy or two. And for five pennies, one could purchase a bottle of coke, a cup of coffee (children didn't usually drink coffee back then though) or a comic book. A penny represented a minute's work for the average man.Kids were thrilled to find a penny. Now a days, few under six-five, would bother to bend over to pick up one, likely not even a nickle or dime either. Can the end of the nickle be far behind?

Yes, those days are long gone, and soon, so will be the penny.

Hockeyfest

At the end of the day, no matter who is to blame and there seems to be plenty of blame to go around, it's just another black eye for Brantford.

Days Late, Dollars Wasted

On the bottom of the front page of Monday's Brantford Expositor was an ad by the City of Brantford Environmental Services, for a backyard compost bin sale. Unfortunately, this sale had already taken place the previous Saturday. Just another example of the absolute waste of taxpayers money. Does anyone at City Hall really care?

Tax Timing Stupidity

The second installment of Brantford property taxes is due this Wednesday. Seniors will receive their CPP payments on Thursday. That means that not only are we paying in advance for city services, such as they are, but that seniors will have had to make their tax payments for the first half of the year from only three months of CPP payments and with only one CPP cheque since the last installment was made. I don't know why the City can't be like the county and have taxes due on the last day of the month when others get paid as well. But then, of course, these matters don't affect the Sunshine Club at City Hall, so why should they worry about the mere taxpayer.

Cockshutt Timekeeper Office Loss

As usual the Brantford City Council dithered and dithered and hummed and hawed about what to do about the historic Cockshutt Timekeeper's Office and the several other buildings still left on Mohawk St. site. Well, their dilemma has be solved for them by an arsonist and the buildings, like so many others of historical significance in Brantford, have now been lost forever.

On the bright side, I'm sure that any money saved from not having to restore these buildings can be used to put several more local politicians and bureaucrats on the "Sunshine List" next year.
