I Hope They Are Happy

As predicted on this blog last July, Kingspan has abandoned plans for the development of a Canadian headquarters here in Brantford with the resulting loss of 200 well paying jobs and the increased municipal taxes that it would bring. Kingspan is also suing the City of Brantford for $10 million. I hope that the Indian protesters that halted this project until it was no longer viable are happy. They are now targeting housing development on Conklin Road and have even tried to stop the building of a vital community medical centre. They are doing irreparable damage to the community of Brantford, their neighbours. The same community where many Indians feel free to use the services provided and paid for local taxpayers, the same people that care so little about.

Funny how they use the excuse that they are protecting the earth from more pollution and sprawl while at the same time development is rapidly taking place on the reserve. But then again I guess that if the Indians were to build another "smoke shop" on the former Kingspan property that would be different somehow.
