Putting Food On The Table

So the Mayor of Brantford, Mr. Chris Friel, thinks that the land that Brantford is built on actually belongs to the Six Nations. That would mean that you and I, and for that matter the City of Brantford, are illegal squatters. Does this also mean that he thinks that all the taxes collected by the City are illegal as well and that all bylaws passed by the City are not enforceable too? An odd stand for someone who just ran for this position, and even though he promised to be more honest and open than previous office holders, he somehow neglected to mention this position during the election campaign. But then maybe it goes along with the creed that he learned from his grandfather. "It's all about putting food on the table".
