Sounds Of Summer In Brantford

The roar of chainsaws as yet another mature tree is destroyed. Ah yes, the sounds of summer in Brantford.

Watering Restrictions

Residents of Brantford are restricted to watering their lawns between 7-9 am and 7-9 pm on alternate days. With the severe lack of rain that has fallen in Brantford this past month lawns are turning brown and flowers and plants and even trees are wilting. Some watering is a must if things are to be saved. The local Health Board advises us to avoid going outside especially at dusk and dawn to lessen the risk of being bitten by a mosquito and contracting West Nile Virus. But the hours that one is allowed to water are exactly when dusk and dawn occur. So we have a choice: don't water and let everything die or go out and water and risk our health. Does this make any sense?

Driving Thru Brantford

Travel two blocks; stop at red light. Go two more blocks ; stop for red light. Two more blocks; another red light. Spend more time waiting at red lights than actually driving. Bad for gas milage and adds to pollution.
